WEEK 3- DAY 15
Embracing Divine Abundance: “Leaving 'My Egypt' with Full Hands”
“So that when you leave, you will not go empty-handed.”
Exodus 3:21
How did you find the courage to leave the familiar, embrace the unknown, and face challenges with determination?
At precisely 5:45, I ventured out, walking away from the walls that had contained my experiences and memories. Now eerily quiet, the halls felt oppressively suffocating, lacking the usual bustling activity. A realization struck me – for the first time, no one was bidding me a casual 'See you on Monday.' It was an unexpected pang, a stark reminder of the finality of this moment. Yet the absence of that defiant fist caught me off guard, stirring a surge of conflicting emotions within me. Just the day before, I had felt so resolute, longing to raise that fist in triumphant defiance – a gesture aimed at those who had mocked me, those who had turned a blind eye to my departure, and especially those who had transformed 'My Egypt' into an unworkable mess. Then, in a twist of whimsical fate, I realized I had deliberately left my purse at home, though the reason eluded me. Armed only with a cell phone, I entered the elevator. Those forty-four seconds felt like an eternity, a space ripe for contemplation. It dawned on me – I was leaving 'My Egypt' empty-handed. A wave of emotion washed over me, a peculiar blend of liberation and vulnerability. Standing at the exit door, a pang of disappointment gripped me, the weight of missed opportunities settling heavily on my shoulders.
Then, like a whisper in the wind, a faint voice questioned, 'Are you truly leaving empty-handed?' Was it a challenge to my conviction or a reminder of unnoticed treasures? My thoughts raced – the forsaken promotion, the relinquished raise, the security of 'My Egypt,' that haven of economic stability. Exodus 3:20-22 danced through my mind, its audacious promises now unfolding in my narrative. I marveled at the audacity of God's declaration: 'I will stretch out my hand and strike Egypt with all the wonders that I will do with it, after which he will let you go. And I will give these people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; when you go, you shall not go empty. How would God manifest such wonders? How could He mend the injustices, compensate for the losses, and pave the way for a fresh start? It was a question that resonated deeply, not just for the ancient Israelites but for me. How was He orchestrating a departure that left no void or emptiness but rather an abundance of promise? A spontaneous confession swelled within me instantly, a heartfelt plea to the heavens. 'I refuse to leave empty-handed, Father. Shower upon me a visitation that fills my barns with abundance in Jesus' name.'
Furthermore, in response, a serene peace enveloped me, a profound reminder that my departure was not a surrender but a transition. I was not departing devoid of riches – I carried the intangible gems of peace, dignity, an unblemished reputation, and cherished friendships. Though 'My Egypt' lay in the past, I embarked on this new chapter with dreams, visions, creative prowess, and the unwavering promises of God securely nestled within my being. As I stepped out of that elevator into a world devoid of 'My Egypt,' I realized that emptiness was not a void to be feared. It was a canvas awaiting the masterful strokes of a Divine hand. I could not help but smile, infused with newfound excitement, as I ventured forward, leaving behind the familiar, embracing the unknown, and eagerly awaiting the wonders destined to fill my empty hands. As I walked away, the realization dawned upon me – it was not Egypt that had abandoned me; instead, I had boldly chosen to leave 'My Egypt.' This departure was not solely from a physical place; it was a liberation from self-imposed limits, a casting off of comfort's chains, and a leap into the vast expanse of possibilities. As I entered the unknown, I carried a treasury of treasures, each waiting to unfold and enrich my journey.
